DIWAN is open daily from 5 PM to 1 AM, talk about literally catching the sunset, followed by a serene view, and a spacious lounge, you cannot help to wonder, why Aqaba hasn’t had something similar before?

DIWAN is divided into three main areas, the bar area, the lounge area, and a dining area. The bar area seats 30 people and served both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The dinner area seats around 38 people for those who want to grab a bite or a snack, and the lounge area is the biggest of all, seating approximately 72 people.

The bar is the biggest bar in Aqaba, it goes all around the venue and is divided into another three sections; the cocktails bar, the mocktails bar (Non-alcoholic beverages: make sure to ask for their signature Diwan Blast), and the Sheesha area.

When not playing upbeat lounge music that makes you want to kick your heels and sway, DIWAN has live entertainment perform, typically a Jordanian-Lebanese band that ensure that your night is nothing less than what you expect it to be. The lounge area is a very chill area, whether you want to eat, chill, smoke sheesha, or enjoy a drink, the lounge is the place to hang out.

Are you ready to indulge in some Picanha? Bringing the tastes of Brazil to tickle your taste buds at the Grand Hyatt Amman, make sure to stop by the Brazilian Food Festival from the 19th of April till the 27th of April. Served daily starting at 7 PM at 32 North Restaurant and at the Terrace by the lobby!

If you’re a foodie, then you know for a fact that Brazilian food comes with so much diversity and mouthwatering delicacies. Add some ambiance into that with Groupo Raiz Band, a Brazilian live band which flew in from Holland, beautifully coordinated performances by Capoeira, which embosses acrobatics, music, dance, and incorporates beautiful martial arts, a DJ spinning on the terrace, and of course celebrity Chef Alessandro Panizzi, and you’ve gotten yourself a night to remember.

If you think that Brazilian food is only about Picancha and meat, then think again, here are some must try signature dishes available as well:

  • Farofa, which is fried cassave flour with eggs, bacon, and rice
  • Feijoada, a black bean stew prepared with various types of beef and a hint of chili
  • Camarão na Moranga, a shrimp stew served in a baked pumpkin with sautéed onions, garlic, and a creamy cheese
  • Frango com Quiabo, a hearty stew made of Okra, Chicken, and spices.

Make sure to stop by while these Brazilian nights last. Resident Executive Chef Brosnan will make it memorable as well with his own personal touch to the overall festival.

A good venue for breakfast, lunch, or brunch, step out and enjoy a delightful meal at PAUL.

Located in City Mall, parking wouldn’t be an issue; I personally dislike handing over my car to Valet, so having a safe parking space is always a plus.

My friend Nadine and I visited on the weekend at noon, surely Paul was packed with friends and family catching up. While the weather doesn’t permit for outdoor seating, indoors were just fine in a cozy well lit environment. We both went for the scrumptious breakfast menu.


Our server started us off with multi seed slices of bread served with a side of butter. The bread basket is prepared with wheat flour and seed mixtures with an intense flavor that pairs well not only with butter but with the EVOO and balsamic vinegar placed at the table.

We were served our breakfast in less than 15 minutes, an adequate and appropriate time for food that is both cooked to order and in a venue that is packed with diners.

Nadine went for the Oeufs Pochés (Pouched Eggs) her choice was the Oeufs Benedict au Bacon. Two poached eggs on top of bacon served with Hollandaise Sauce.

The eggs were fine, one was cooked perfectly and the other was slightly over cooked but it did not affect the taste or the flavor as they were excellent. Nadine has felt that the Hollandaise sauce had a little bit more of a sour taste to it than usual, and I explained that the lemon added to the Hollandaise sauce is usually as per the chef’s taste, and different variations are made to accommodate different dishes. Nevertheless, for her taste buds it was sourer than it should for pouched eggs, but also did not affect the overall flavor of the dish wish she has enjoyed tremendously from beginning to end.

I personally went for the Croissant au Saumon, because no one loves smoked salmon as much as I do. A delicate sesame croissant stuffed with smoked salmon, cream cheese, grain mustard, onion, caper, dill, and lettuce.

While the description in the menu and what I was served varies, it did not come with onion, capers, or dill, the mustard grains were busting in flavor, making this the best smoked salmon croissant I have had to date.


What’s a brunch date with no happy ending? The sweet tooth’s of Nadine and I were craving the wide array of desserts we were eyeing when we walked in, and in our logic at least, calories don’t count on the weekends.

I went for the lemon tart which was divine, but in my opinion needed a quick swift of whipped cream on top or icing sugar; personally I would go for the latter. The Strawberry Mille Feuille that Nadine has ordered was equally delicious but probably needed a few more layers of puffy pastry in the middle.

For drinks I had my breakfast accompanied with English Breakfast Tea with fresh mint leaves, and Nadine enjoyed Fresh Orange Juice which was highly recommended. The Iced Tea addicts that we are each ordered a version of our own. I personally disliked my Lemon Ice Tea which I found very citrusy even with added sugar, but the sip I took out of Nadine’s peach ice tea made me green with envy.


Overall, it was an extremely pleasant experience. Bon Appétit in advance for your future visit to Paul, I’ll definitely be stopping by again for breakfast, or maybe to experience their lunch menu.

There is Buffalo and there is Wings and then there is both…combined with kick-ass organization by eguides team and the one and only host of Good Food, Good Times and Good Sports Champions Amman, it is safe to say that the KING OF WINGS contest tonight was Amazing!!!!!

See the whole idea of wings dates back to 1964 where the first plate was served at a family-owned establishment called the ANCHOR BAR. See the thing is, the whole wings thing was an accident, or the creation of the wings were at least.

Wings are the brainchild of Teressa Bellissimo, who had received a wrong order of Chicken wings (rather than the other chicken parts that she had) and deep fried them and then battered them with sauce and butter before serving them with Blue Cheese and Celery because those are the only ingredients she had! You gotta say thank God for accidents or else we wouldn’t be having what were having today!

Chicken Wing Day is celebrated every July 29 since 1977, and the first annual National Buffalo Wing Festival was held over labor day 2002 in (where else but) Buffalo, NY. In Jordan, mark the date, today the 2nd of April 2012 was the first Buffalo Chicken Wings eating contest where teams competed for the title of KING OF WINGS!

Just before I forget this I want to mention something, the most honorable part of the event was that the proceeds of all the teams entering tonight will be going to Family Kitchens! I love how we have the spirit of giving back to the community in Jordan, seeing as we haven’t won the contest tonight, I can safely say that this was the most rewarding piece of news any of us could ever hear!

With that said, a picture speaks a thousand wings, ugh words, here are a few happy snaps from tonight’s event that will get you drooling.
