Chili Hotdogs

Ingredients 

      • 1 Large Onion, diced finely
      • 500 grams minced beef
      • 3 – 4 TBSP Tex-mex Chili Spices pack
      • 1 – 2 TBSP Tomato Paste
      • 1/2 Cup Water

If you don’t have Chili Spices, make your own:

          • 1 TBSP Chili Powder
          • 1/2 TSP Cinnamon
          • 1/2 Cumin
          • 1/4 Salt
          • 1/2 TSP Smoked Paprika
          • 1/2 TSP Garlic Powder
          • 1/4 TSP cayenne pepper (optional, don’t recommend if serving to kids)
          • 1/4 TSP All Spice
          • 1/4 TSP Sugar

Assembly Ingredients

  • Beef or Turkey Hot-dogs
  • Fresh Hot dog Buns
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Mustard (Optional)
  • Onions (Optional
  • Kidney Beans (Optional)

Directions

  1. Cook onions in some vegetable oil until soft, add beef and season with spices.
  2. Mix until browned and add tomato paste, and water.
  3. Simmer until tender around 20 minutes.

To assemble heat a bun on a grill (optional)

  1. Grill hot-dogs on both sides.
  2. Add hot-dog to a sliced bun.
  3. Top with a hint of mustard then chili and cheddar cheese.
  4. Add any other desired toppings.
  5. Broil until cheese melts.
