There are many reasons to love those crinkles: Their popping red color is one of them.

But don’t let the color fool you, they are outrageously delicious.

PERFECT Crust on the outside. PERFECT Chew on the inside.

What more can you ask for in a crinkle cookie?

I bet you cannot resist this timeless classic with a twist, and neither can I.

Shout out to my best friend Inaam for allowing me to republish her recipe

  • 50 grams’ butter softened
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 TSP Vanilla
  • 1 TBSP Red Food Coloring
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup powder sugar

  • In a bowl mix flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder. Set aside.
  • In the bowl of your stand mixer cream the butter and cream cheese.
  • Gradually add the sugar until well incorporated.
  • Add egg and vanilla.
  • Add red food coloring and continue mixing until it blends through the whole mixture.
  • Gradually add in the dry ingredients (minus the powder sugar) and mix until well incorporated.
  • Chill in fridge for at least one hour before shaping.
  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  • Meanwhile, shape dough into equal balls, we used an ice cream scooper.
  • Roll cookie dough in powder sugar and place on baking tray.
  • Bake for 8 minutes and then take out. Let them cool down for 2 minutes before moving them to cooling rack.
  • The cookies will be soft, remember they continue baking outside the oven, so don't over bake.
