How to make a smart pot Beef Stroganoff? Some might say it’s already a 30 minute dish, why bother with a smart pot?

Honestly, it’s faster and it means no matter which cut of meat you use, you can get away with it. This is ready in 15 minutes.

20 minutes to be more accurate including prep-time. Meaning you can cook a side of pasta or rice at the same time your smart pot is getting the work done for you.

Equipment

  • Pressure Cooker

Ingredients

Function: Sautee

  • 500 grams’ beef tenderloin cut into thin slices
  • 2 TBSP Butter
  • Splash of Olive Oil
  • 1 medium onions diced
  • 1 garlic glove minced
  • 200 grams fresh mushrooms sliced
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Function: Pressure Cook

  • 12 Minutes

Function: Soup

  • 200 ML Cooking Cream
  • 1 TBSP Starch
  • Served with cooked pasta or rice.
  • Parsley for garnish optional

Instructions

Sautee

  • Add butter and olive oil.
  • Sautee onions and then add garlic until fragrant.
  • Add the mushrooms and cook.
  • Add flour, mix well.
  • Add the beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix.

Pressure Cook

  • Turn off the sauté function and choose the pressure cook function. Set for 12 minutes.
  • Traditionally this dish is served with pasta - I use this time to bring my water to boil and cook the pasta.

Finish Off

  • Once the cooking is done. Remove lid, and turn on the soup function.
  • If the sauce is too thin, remove some with a ladle and mix in a tablespoon of starch. And return to mixture.
  • Add cooking cream (I prefer to have it at room temp) instead of straight out of the fridge. Bring to one boil and serve.
  • Garnish with parsley (optional)
